ISLAMABAD: Mashroom growth in encroachments and poor sanitation situation in several big, smaller markets and residential areas of the federal capital and inadequate security measures have compounded problems of the citizens.

Due to sheer negligence of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) encroachments in I-10 Markaz, G-10 Markaz, Karachi Company, Super Market, Jinnah Super Market and in some residential sectors neighbouring the markets were on the rise.

Stalls on footpaths and food stalls in parking areas of the shopping centers of Islamabad has made the life of pedestrians and shoppers miserable.

The local people visiting various markets told INP that it is difficult for them to come to these trade markets along with their families. They also expressed concerns over the heaps of filth at various locations of the city and security measures taken to protect the lives and properties of the people of Capital.

They demanded of civic body and other concerned authorities to take notice of the situation and direct for early action to ensure elimination of encroachments, improving sanitation and security situation.
