Islamabad:

Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that eliminating corruption from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is his top priority; the Minister was speaking exclusively to Sardar Khan Niazi in Roze News program Sachi Baat. It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif recently handed over the reins of the CDA to Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry. He added that he will make all efforts to solve the problems of the capital. He said that during the tenure of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) there have been no violations of Islamabad’s master plan. Dr Tariq however added that every master plan has a certain age and making a master plan considering the requirements of the city is the need of the hour. He said that the public will hear good news regarding the sector G-12 in the coming days. Speaking about land grabbing activities the State Minister said that land grabbers have occupied most of the land in sector F-12; he said that in the capital land grabbers have occupied over 50,000 kanals of land. Dr. Tariq said that strict action will be taken against elements that have occupied the CDA land. He said that during the last five years there has been a mushroom growth of slums in the capital, he however said that bulldozing these settlements is not the solution. He said that there should be a policy for the residents of the slums and the Government will take decision in this regard in the light of the verdict of Supreme Court.

Responding to a question Dr Tariq Fazal said that no housing society can give advertisements in the media without obtaining a NOC first. He added that in many cases this fact is overlooked and there is little substance behind glamorous advertisements. The State Minister said that he will present a one year action plan to the Prime Minister. He further said that he will present his plan in Roze News program Sachi Baat. Responding to a question regarding the treason case of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf he said that the Government fulfilled its constitutional responsibility by filing the case. He dispelled the notion that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has any vendetta against the former military rules. He added that the Prime Minister has said that he has forgiven Musharraf. He added that the verdict in the case will satisfy all the standards of justice.
