ISLAMABAD: Campaigning has reached its peak in the Federal Capital for local government elections to be held on 30th of
this month.
Candidates belonging to different political parties and independents are holding corner meetings besides door-to-door canvassing to enlist
support of voters. In all, 2407 candidates are contesting elections for 43 Union Councils of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The high number of candidates have been fielded by PML (N), which has 506 candidates; followed by PTI 479, Jamat-e-Islami 164; PPP 81 and
Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan (TTP) 66. NNI
