Eight killed in Hangu IDP camp blast

blastHANGU: At least eight persons were killed and several others injured in a bomb blast at a camp of internally displaced persons (IDPs) here on Sunday.

Police said that bomb blast took place in IDPs camp established at Togh Saraey area of Hangu.

As a result of explosion eight persons including two children were killed while a dozen others sustained wounds.

Police and rescue personnel rushed the scene of the blast and started the rescue activities.

The bodies and injured were shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Hangu where according to hospital sources condition of many wounded people was serious and it was feared that death toll could rise further.

Sources said that unknown miscreants had planted bomb in a motorcycle which was parked against a wall near IDPs camp.

The President and PM said that terrorist through such cowardly act could not weaken government’s resolve to end terrorism.INP
