LAHORE: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the Punjab government has presented an all-inclusive budget to ensure composite development while the opposition is moving from pillar to post to confuse the people, adding that defeat is their faith despite continuing hue and cry because the budget will be passed with a thumping majority.
Talking to the media outside the Punjab assembly here on Friday, Dr Firdous said that all the cut motions of the opposition have been bulldozed because the assembly members have rejected them. She said that not a single opposition member could find any fault in the budget as it is a historic document presented to ensure balanced development in the province.
The Special Assistant said the budget will protect the rights of 11 crore citizens while opening new avenues of development. When bondmaids try to criticize the government, I don’t reply to them because they are worthless and I don’t want to increase their political entity by replying to such non-entities, she said.
Dr Firdous said the speaker is duty-bound to take care of every member and the allies are standing with the government. The government has defeated the opposition in collaboration with the political allies, she said.
The SACM said that yesterday’s court decision has again exposed Nawaz Sharif and he has been termed as a political absconder. Maryam Safdar has also accepted the reality that Nawaz Sharif is not suffering from any disease. The only disease is deprivation of power and authority, she said.
The Special Assistant said the Sharif family has no care for the people and is oblivious towards the national interests. Their family interests are supreme and the rejection of Nawaz Sharif’s appeal shows that truth has prevailed, she said.
Dr Firdous said that every effort of befooling the people has been exposed. The Sharif family made no agreement with the countries for the exchange of criminals or absconders where their properties and black money are hidden. The government is trying to bring Nawaz Sharif back but efforts are delayed due to the corona pandemic, she said.
The SACM said that it is the biggest joke of the century that Hamza Shehbaz does not know about the billions deposited in his accounts. It is astounding that billions were deposited in their account but they are ignorant. They are trying to fool the masses but the government will thwart their efforts, she said.
Dr Firdous advised Bilawal to decide who is the main political player? Is it Asif Zardari or little Bilawal who has the right to take political decisions? I am firmly keeping an eye on the activities of the opposition and no conspiracy of opposition parties will ever succeed, concluded the SACM.
