ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada Wednesday said that early elections are the only solution to the current political instability. The Minister was speaking in Roze News program Sachi Baat.
While responding to a question by Editor in Chief Pakistan Group of Newspapers and Chairman Roze News Sardar Khan Niazi, Pirzada said that I had advised the party not to adopt the path of confrontation. He added that instead of policy of confrontation, politicians should weather the storm. He said that he had opposed the party’s confrontation policy and the policy to take the judiciary head on by issuing controversial statements.
Commenting about Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari, Pirzada said that Zardari is an intelligent politician. When asked about his opinion on former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he said that the former Prime Minister often forgets people who have done the most for him. The Minister however added that every person has some weaknesses and some people listen to those who flatter them.
Commenting on the indirect criticism by some politicians on Armed Forces, the Minister said that criticizing the Armed Forces to further your political agenda is condemnable. He said that such an approach will in fact harm democracy adding that politicians should not indulge in irresponsible criticism on any institution. The Minister also lauded the sacrifices of the Armed Forces for restoring peace in the country.
Commenting on the criticism on the judiciary by some of his party leaders, Pirzada said that only judiciary can provide relief after a decision is taken. He said that no matter what the decision is it should be accepted.
