LAHORE: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaaf to return to the National Assembly and fully participate in its proceedings for resolution of their complaints.

He was talking to media persons after a meeting with the delegation of Jamaat-e Islami led by its Ameer Sirajul Haq, in Lahore on Sunday.

Ayaz Sadiq said it will take some time to complete the verification process of resignations tendered by the PTI members. He however expressed the confidence that matters will be resolved with the PTI by Monday evening.

The speaker said he has always played an impartial role in the house and that he will continue to work for supremacy of democracy and constitution.

Speaking on the occasion,   Sirajul Haq requested the National Assembly speaker not to accept the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaaf as it will further deepen political crisis in the country. He said  there is consensus amongst other political parties that non acceptance of the resignations will provide time and space  to the political forces for arbitration between the government and protesting parties.

Siraj ul Haq said his party is in touch with both the government and the protesting leaders and we want an honorable way out for both the sides.

Appreciating the government’s flexibility and patience in the whole situation, Sirajul Haq said people of this country do not want an end to democracy and constitution through any agitation.  Ayaz Sadiq said that he is ready to become a witness if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is really going to marry. Sadiq said that he would not comment on the statement issued by Imran Khan regarding his marriage, however, he is ready to be a witness in the wedding.DNA
