LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that the district administrations and not the N League deserve credit for winning the local government elections. He said N-Leaguers are just receiving felicitations for nothing.
He said this while addressing the party leaders and talking to media along with Munawar Hussain Manj and Khurram Munawar Manj in Sheikhupura.
Ch Parvez Elahi said that if the Election Commission did not take notice of the activities of DCOs and DPOs in the second phase of the local bodies’ election and did not eliminate rigging then these elections will completely end reputation of the Election Commission.
Directing the PML leaders and workers to fully participate in the second phase of local bodies election, he said that they should inform the people about unparalleled and revolutionary works undertaken during their five year of government in Punjab so that if victory of the official candidates is secured in the second phase also then the real undemocratic face of the N-League rulers stands exposed before the people.
He said there is no doubt in the first phase of the local bodies election the PML candidates were particularly defeated. He said our candidates who won foiling all tactics of the government deserved to be felicitated and saluted.
Ch Pervez Elahi pointedly stated that we had informed the Election Commission in advance about all expected tactics of the rulers in the local bodies election, no defeated candidate of any party is satisfied over pre-poll rigging and “jhurlo” on the polling day by the district administration.
