ISLAMABAD: Pakistan believes that peaceful way is the best way to resolve the outstanding issues between India and Pakistan including Kashmir dispute.

This was stated by Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria at his weekly news briefing here on Thursday.

The Spokesman said Pakistan always tried to create conducive atmosphere to resolve the issues but Indian did not reciprocate in that kind.  He said international community is well aware of Pakistan’s stance for resolving the issues through dialogue.

He said it is the principled stand of Pakistan that Kashmir dispute should be resolved through free and fair plebscite in line with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He said we believe that UN has a role to play in resolving the Kashmir dispute through implementing the UNSC resolutions on Kashmir.

To a question about Indian Home Minister’s statement to divide Pakistan, the Spokesman strongly condemned his absurd remarks and said these are completely violation of international norms.  He said these remarks vindicated Pakistan’s longstanding position that Indian Government and Intelligence Agencies are involved in subversitive activities in Pakistan to destabilize it.

He strongly condemned continued atrocities and human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir.  He also condemned stopping of APHC leaders from participating in Milad Conference and termed it a blatant violation of religious freedom and UN charter.

Answering a question, Nafees Zakaria said international community is deeply concerned about the treatment meted to the minorities in India.

Replying a question, he said Pakistan has taken firm action to root out terrorism from the country.

He said killing of a number of leaders and commanders of terrorists organizations in Afghanistan during the last few months is reflective that these terrorists are based in that country.

To a question, he again made it clear that there is no organized presence of Daesh in Pakistan.

Foreign Office Spokesman said Pakistan is committed towards peace and stability in Afghanistan because peace and stability is in the interest of Pakistan and the entire region. He said participation in Heart of Asia Conference in India is manifestation of this spirit. He said Pakistan facilitated talks between Afghan Government and Afghan Taliban for peace in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan has executed a number of development projects in health, education and infrastructure sectors in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan has also extended trade facilities of Afghan trade through Pakistan.  He said Pakistan is hosting an unprecedented number of Afghan refugees for the last thirty-seven years.
