BANNU: Director General ISPR, Maj. Gen. Asim Bajwa, said Wednesday that operation Zarb-e-Azb is being conducted successfully in North Waziristan region, adding that no timeframe could be given conclusion of the offensive which started on June 15 this year, reported.
“The operation is going on successfully. The defusing of explosives and clearance of areas is underway in several areas. The army is trying to conclude this operation as soon as possible; however, we can’t give a final date in this regard,” Bajwa said.
He was speaking to reporters in Bannu after witnessing a friendly match between army and IDPs.
Replying to a question, the DG ISPR expressed his satisfaction over arrangements made by the military for temporarily dislocated persons.
“We wish a save return of the affectees to their homes and also providing all-out facilities to them here in camps which are declared best camps by the United Nations,” he said –
