Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday inaugurated several China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Gwadar. While addressing he said that Gwadar has potential to become a world class seaport because it is located at a place which is not only important for Pakistan but also for the region. He said that Gwadar is also one of central points in the CPEC. The CPEC has its impacts not only on Balochistan but the rest of the country. Gwadar is now not only being linked to Balochistan but to rest of the country and it will be linked with the central Asian region.
There is indeed no doubt that operational Gwadar port would not only be beneficial for Pakistan but it also contains great value for other regional countries. Other than becoming an international city and sea port, it also has 300MW coal fired power stations, which not only provide electricity to Gwadar but also to other parts of Balochistan
In recent revelations it has been said by officials of government that some anti-state elements are trying to destabilize the development under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Therefore, it is the moral duty of all of us to make CPEC successful because it will bring unprecedented job opportunities and development for the people of Pakistan. COAS has shown his commitment time and again to eliminate all the elements working against the development under CPEC. We should also pay tribute to the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and administration, operating in Balochistan. Efforts of incumbent government should also be lauded for showing keen interest in the development of various projects under CPEC.
CPEC will bring prosperity not only in Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan but in all other provinces of the country.
