According to security experts, the account information of more than 7 million users using Netflix and other streaming services has been stolen.
A new report released by cybersecurity company Kaspersky has revealed that criminals have collected login details as part of a large-scale campaign of theft.
In the study, experts revealed details of 7 million 10 thousand accounts stolen from Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV Plus and Macs in 2024.
Researchers believe that the account details were stolen through unauthenticated browser extensions, apps and other downloaded software.
Polina Tretyak, a digital footprint analyst at Kaspersky, said that malware hidden in unauthenticated downloads or third-party tools silently steals login details and personal data, which are later sold on cybercriminal forums.
