DASKA: A large number of people Tuesday offered funeral prayers for two lawyers who were killed in firing by police yesterday in Punjab’s Daska city.
The funeral prayers were attended by former Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar among a large number of lawyers and family members of the victims.
Daska remained shut down as traders and businessmen observed a shutter down strike. The city gave a deserted look asschools and government offices, business centres, markets and shops were closed while traffic was off the roads.
Rangers were kept on alert at Nawaz Sharif stadium to deal with any unfortunate incident. Additional police from neighbouring districts was also summoned and deployed at City police stations.
