In the last one week, tensions between Pakistan and India have further increased, firstly an Indian submarine attempted to intrude into Pakistani waters and Pakistan Navy expelled it, secondly a small Indian surveillance drone was knocked down after it violated the Line of Control. Apart from these incidents, unprovoked firing and continued ceasefire violations of LoC and Working Boundary are resulting in the killings of innocent civilians living in the villages near bordering areas. It seems that there is some hidden agenda of India behind deliberately trying to increase tension by constant violations of ceasefire.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Monday said that India’s belligerent posturing is dangerous to the peace of the region. He said that India has different motives behind the ceasefire violations. He said that ceasefire violations are to cover the domestic and political issues facing the Indian government. He said the objective of India’s false claims of infiltration is to malign Pakistan. He said India is also portraying the indigenous movement in Kashmir as act of terrorism.
Pakistan has repeatedly said that Indian objective behind constant ceasefire violations is to divert attention of the world from gross human rights violations perpetrated by its forces in Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan also believes that India is involved in anti-Pakistan activities inside Pakistan by exploiting anti-state elements with financial assistance. Pakistan should take up issue of Indian constant violations with the United Nations and use diplomatic channels to address all these issues. We need to make the world realize that India is violating the UN resolutions and charter.
The tension is now heading towards a critical point, India should realize the risk involved in its dangerous endeavors. Both countries have nuclear weapons and aggressive Indian motives can lead the region towards any unfortunate incident.
India should also realize that its aggressive approach would lead the region towards anarchy and chaos. It seems that just to achieve support of extremist and anti-Pakistan elements in India; Modi government is increasing tensions with Pakistan. On one hand Modi challenges Pakistan to initiate movement to reduce poverty and on the other his government is constantly trying to increase tensions with Pakistan.
Our government should make every effort to highlight Indian acts of aggression at international forums, but should also keep the doors of dialogue open. The international community should also take note of the continuous and dangerous Indian aggression that can lead to instability in the entire South Asian region and maybe even beyond. The human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir are also a serious worry and more than hundred innocent Kashmiris have been martyred by Indian forces in the last four months.
