Dacoits’ gang busted; 14 outlaws nabbed

ISLAMABAD, Jan 05 (NNI): Islamabad Police have busted a gang of dacoits and also arrested 14 other outlaws from various areas of the city besides recovering hashish, wine, weapons and looted items from their possession, a police spokesman said on Monday.

On a tip off, Lohi Bhar police arrested four dacoits namely Rafique, Amir, Sikandar and Abdul Gahfoor and recovered 03 pistols along with ammunition from their possession. During the initial interrogation, they confessed their involvement in various incidents of dacoities in twin cities.Further investigation is underway from them.

Meanwhile, Bhara Kahu police arrested Hassan Akhtar and recovered one 30 bore pistol while Shehzad Town police arrested Anwar, Younas and Umer for having 500 gram hashish, one 30 bore pistol and one 12 bore gun respectively.

Sihala police arrested an accused Zamer and recovered one 12 bore rifle along with ammunition from him. Police team apprehended Saneel involved in selling petroleum products illegally.

Secretariat police arrested Javed for decanting gas in cylinders illegally while   Shalimar police arrested two thieves Ijaz and Maqsood. Industrial Area police arrested five bootlegger namely Awais,Azkhal, Shahid, Kamal and Asif and recovered wine from their possession.

Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them. SSP  have appreciated this overall performance and directed all police officials to ensure further effective policing. NNI
