RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday upheld death sentences of five terrorists who had sought stay on their executions.
On Monday, the court had stayed execution of five convicted terrorists whose death warrants had been signed by army chief General Raheel Sharif. The convicts – Ehsan Azeem, Asif Idrees, Umar Nadeem, Kamran Aslam, and Amir Yousuf – had been handed down death penalty by a military court. They later filed petitions and pleaded for their hearing in the civilian court where Judge Arshad Mehmood Tabasum stayed the executions. INP
