KARACHI (NNI): Additional District and Sessions court on Monday acquitted Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA Shahjahan Baloch in three cases of illegal weapons and hand grenades possession.

Three cases of illegal arms possession had been registered against Member of National Assembly Shahjahan Baloch. Additional District and Sessions Judge Sohail Jabbar heard the cases against Baloch.

During the hearing four witnesses were presented by Criminal Investigation Department (CID), however, the judge ruled that the evidence submitted was not sufficient. After hearing the arguments by Baloch’s counsel Akram Baig, the court ordered the dismissal of the case and released Shahjahan Baloch.

The cases were filed against him during the operations in Lyari area of Karachi. Moreover, he was also alleged for involvement in 17 different cases including the target killing of police officers and murder of Arshad Pappu.
