ISLAMABAD: Acting President and Chairman Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani, has said that Pakistan’s survival lies in implementation of the 1973 Constitution and continuation of democracy in the country.
He said if anyone tried to derail democracy it would destabilize and weaken the federation.
In a statement issued on Monday, Mian Raza Rabbani said that attempts have been made in the past to sabotage democracy but now Pakistan could not afford such adventurism any more. He said that any attack on the provincial autonomy would harm the federation too.
Speaking about terrorism, he said that the nation should support the armed forces and encourage security operations carried out by the armed forces against the terrorists. All political forces need to be on the same page, Rabbani said.
