Fears bloodily revolution if people deprived of justice
ISLAMABAD,: PTI Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday urged the judiciary and Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk to safeguard fundamental rights of ordinary Pakistanis and the democracy.
Imran Khan has said that a path to bloody revolution will open if the people deprived of justice. He called upon Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the police crackdown on peaceful protesters.
In an address to the participants of Azadi March in Islamabad, Khan said that workers of his party are being arrested in clear violation of orders of the Islamabad High Court.
Imran Khan said that the country is headed towards civil war and all the supporters are ready to fight the police and he shall not be able to hold his people for long.
Imran Khan subjected the lawyers and the judges who had struggled for the freedom of judiciary today that the honorable judges of the Supreme Court should ensure the implementation of the court orders.
The PTI leader highlighted the sacrifices rendered by people of the country for the supremacy of the judiciary and called the apex court to fulfill its constitutional role to safeguard the democracy.
He said 30,000 policemen have been deployed at the site. As soon as the sit-in wraps up every night the police starts detaining innocent people, snatching away their wallets and mobile phones as well and this is being practiced for four consecutive days. A dozen people die in Karachi each day, the police shall be deployed to secure that metropolis.
He further said that 40 PTI supporters were arrested yesterday night whereas two boys under the age of 16 were shackled and inhumanely for attending the sit-in. The police had earlier used force and detained many PTI activists including the doctors at the Bhara Kahu police station.
Imran Khan appealed the judges to fulfill their responsibility to protect the rights of the citizens and save democracy as these peaceful sit-ins not in any way violate the constitution; the FIRs cannot therefore be filed.
He urged Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the situation. “The rulers are taking the country towards civil war,” Khan warned.
The government only gets reminded of democracy when it’s about saving their own regime, he added.
Chairman PTI accused the police for harassing the Pakhtoons from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) who are coming to join the sit-in.
He said that PTI had proofs to the blatant rigging; the tribunal was not able to deliver justice for 16 months so protest is our constitutional right.
Containers are a violation of the orders from Islamabad High Court. So the workers shall remove all containers following the court orders.
Khan blamed Ch. Nisar for giving the orders to torture innocent people in Islamabad whereas the administration of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has kept 17 dead bodies at the hospital so the number of deaths may be concealed.
Chairman PTI warned Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police Tahir Alam that the Sharifs would be gone and he won’t let him get away with whatever he has done. =DNA
