Cops involved in attack on businessmen to be punished: Temuri

ISLAMABAD: Assistant Inspector General (Operations) Islamabad Police, Sultan Azam Taimuri said on Thursday that force is trying on its level best to maintain law & order situation for establishing peaceful environment .

While talking to a delegation of ICCI here, he tendered apology over the unfortunate incident in which Chamber officials was manhandled by the policemen. He assured that policemen involved in the incident would be taken to task.

He said close cooperation between Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Islamabad Police would yield better results for businessmen and citizens of Islamabad

Azam Temuri informed that p a forum will be set up with particular focus to maintain close liaison with ICCI for addressing the problems of business community. This forum will be connected with Rescue-15 to provide quick response and he will personally monitor and supervise its activities, he maintined/

He went on saying that the business community remains the backbone of the economy and is playing important role in the development of local economy. He added that Islamabad Police would take all possible measures to facilitate the economic growth.

 

 

Speaking at the occasion, Shaban Khalid, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that ICCI has always supported the Islamabad Police in its many initiatives and would continue to cooperate with ICT Police for maintaining a peaceful environment in the federal capital.

He said ICCI is apolitical institution without affiliation with any political party and police should cooperate with it for promoting the interests of business community.
