‘Individual contributions, team work can bring about an industrial revolution’

RISALPUR (INP): Convocation Ceremony of 77 Engineering Course was held at Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur on Thursday. Lieutenant General (Retd) Muhammad Asghar, Rector National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), was the chief guest at the occasion.

The chief guest awarded merit certificates and medals to the distinction holders. Merit Certificate for best Aerospace Vehicle Design was awarded to NUST Cadet Qasim Manzoor, while Merit Certificate for Best Avionics System Design was awarded to Pilot

Officer Ali Hanif. Rector’s Gold Medal for Best Project in Aerospace Engineering was awarded to NUST Cadet Usama Ahmed, Rector’s Gold Medal for Best Project in Avionics Engineering was awarded to Pilot Officer Abdul Hannan while President’s Gold Medal for standing first in Aerospace and Avionics Engineering Disciplines were awarded to Pilot Officer Rana Sufian Babar and Pilot Officer Ali Hanif respectively.

Addressing the ceremony, Lieutenant General (Retd.), Muhammad Asghar said that in view of Pakistan’s needs for research and development in the field of engineering in general and aeronautical engineering in particular, you are required to pursue new horizons of opportunities and undertake new enterprises to find multi-dimensional solutions to the problems faced by our country. As professionals you also need to make safe engineering practices as your second nature, he said adding that let me tell you that the nature of any engineer’s job is very exciting and demands utmost professionalism, precision and perseverance.

“Hence, to be worthy of abiding respect, you will need to thoroughly master your vocation and develop in yourselves the exemplary traits of absolute devotion, focused commitment and enviable professionalism.   Through your individual contributions as well as team work you can bring about an industrial revolution, provided you have the motivation, determination, vision and professional wisdom”, he maintained.

Earlier on his arrival at the PAF Academy, the chief guest was received by Air Vice Marshal Aasim Zaheer, Air Officer Commanding, PAF Academy, Risalpur.
