When it comes to cricket, there should be no doubt that Pakistani nation is passionate about it. In fact, cricket unites us. We celebrate every Pakistani victory in major tournaments by coming on the streets. We all become Pakistanis by brushing aside all our regional, ethnic, linguistic differences. Pakistanis, across the globe, follow national team.

Although our national sport is hockey but we are a cricket crazy nation. Remarkable performances in the fields of literature, sports, art etc reflect the overall image of the development of a society. Importance of sports related activities are the salient features of any civilized nation of the world.

There were many question marks on the selection of the team for the mega event of World Cup 2015. Now team our team is in Zee Zeeland and has lost two consecutive matches against domestic Kiwi team. Team could not defend healthy target. Cricket lovers are worried considering the weak bowling unit and by the absence of match winning all rounders. Our cricket team always remained well known for the great all rounders, but it seems history as only Shahid Afridi remains a genuine all rounder. We have sent an in experienced team to take part in the World cup under a captain who has been criticized for his negative approach. Top three experienced cricketers have already announced the retirements after the World Cup.

It is the time to boost the morale of the team but Pakistan Cricket Board well known for its controversies has triggered another controversy ahead of the World Cup 2015. The PCB has offered only a three months central contract to 33 listed players, which has created unrest among the squad selected for the mega event. The PCB should have considered the World Cup before making any such move. It is the time that PCB must resolve the conflict immediately and must review its decision to keep the World Cup hopes alive.
