Compensation worth Rs 140mln paid to Shikarpur victims’ families

KARACHI: The spokesman for Sindh Finance Department said that with the approval of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah an amount of Rs.140.600 million has been provided/released for payment of compensation to the legal heirs of the victims (63 Martyred and 73 injured) of bomb blast on 30-01-2015 at Jamia Masjid (Karbla Moula) Imam Bargah, Lakhi Gate, Shikarpur on 11.02.2015.

He further informed that the said funds are being disbursed through the Home Department to concerned legal heirs via authorized branch of Sindh Bank.

No complaint for non encashment of cheques has been received in Finance Department and the payments to the deserving persons are being made promptly and without any hindrance, the spokesman added. DNA
