RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif was given unprecedented reception upon his arrival in Jordan for a two-day official visit.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief was received by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, Jordanian Armed Forces, Gen Mashal Al-Zaben and Chief of Royal Jordanian Air Force, Major General Mansour AlJobour.

Later, the COAS met HRH Prince Al-Hassan bin Talal and also called on Chief of Royal Jordanian Air Force, Major General Mansour Aljobour.

General Sharif also held separate meetings with Gen Mashal Al-Zaben, Chairman Joint chief of Staff Jordanian Armed forces, HRH Lt Gen Prince feisal Bin El Hussein.

During the meetings, regional security, military to military relations, matter of mutual interest including enhanced defence collaboration and military training exchanges were discussed.

Later, in an exclusive ceremony, General Reheel Sharif was awarded the most prestigious Jordanian medal of merit for displaying remarkable courage in leading Pak Army in the face of multiple threats specially the menace of terrorism, and above all for his great efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
