ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination will construct coaches’ villas to provide international standard residence to the coach staff of sports teams that visit Pakistan at Islamabad Sports Complex with the cost of 30million rupees that is included in proposed Budget for Financial Year (FY) 2015-16. This was said by the Secretary of Inter Provincial Coordination, Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry while briefing the member of standing committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination. He said that PC1 of the project has been submitted and we are keen to provide high standard residence to the coach staff of sports teams that visit Pakistan time to time. He further said that we are planning to host Asian Games also and for that purpose arrangements have been made including the installation of security cameras and expansion of sports complex to convert it into a model complex.
While briefing the committee on budgetary proposals related to Public Sector Development Programme (PSDC) for financial year 2015-16, Ejaz said that currently there are as many as 29 projects with cost of 1350.166million including 6 approved with cost of 61million rupees and 14 unapproved with cost of 495 million rupees have been accommodated in proposed budget for FY 2015-16.
Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination and Sports, Riaz Hussain Pirzada while briefing the committee about the development projects said that we have retrieved 10acre land with the help of locals at Dera Gazi Khan, a tennis ground, two football grounds and a badminton complex have been constructed to promote sports in country. He said it is the responsibility of provinces to allocate budget for promotion of sports as after devolution sports is the provincial subject. He further said that Federal government is responsible to provide guidelines to provinces for the furtherance of sports. The committee has approved the budget proposal of PSDP for 2015-16 and recommended for further necessary actions.
