ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of out-of-order ventilators at Services Hospital, Lahore where reportedly 07 out of 17 ventilators were out of order. The action was taken on reports that hundreds of patients requiring intensive care were suffering due to shortage of ventilators and were using the urgent alternate of Ambo-bag. It was also reported that only three ventilators of ICU children ward were functional.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan has directed Chief Secretary, Punjab to probe into the matter and submit report within 10 days to verify the position, if all the ventilators are in order or otherwise.
In another notice taken by the Chief Justice relates to imputations of three fingers of a new born baby in Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore. The action was taken on reports that at Ganga Ram Hospital, hand of a new born baby was burnt due to negligence of doctors, which resulted in subsequent imputation of his thumb and two fingers of the baby boy.
The Chief Justice has directed Medical Director, Children Hospital, Lahore to submit a detailed report within three days.
