ISLAMABAD: Faculty Development Academy (FDA), training wing of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) Islamabad conducted its third workshop to equip the trainees with latest knowledge in related fields and sharpen their leadership skills deemed essential for both personal, interpersonal effectiveness and professional growth.
A total of 35 participants of grade 16 and above, from CIIT s’ eight campuses and some of local universities / HEIs attended the course. Eminent Resource Persons of prestigious organizations were invited as trainers.
The workshop was designed for non-teaching staff of universities and HEIs working at different managerial levels. There were three sessions a day based on the trainees needs and expectations. These included Leadership Perspective & Styles, Change Management, Conflict Management, Team Work, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Civic Responsibility and Rights of Citizens and Time Management. The participants of the workshop were also engaged in group discussions and various activities
Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi, Rector CIIT,while addressing the group encouraged them for life-long learning to grow as professionals.
He emphasized that these training workshops are very important in the enhancement of learning and innovation. He stated that the new trends of leadership and management skills must replace the old coercive methods and techniques of regimentation. The employees’problems should always be taken into consideration but not at the cost of the institutions’ objectives. He also appreciated the efforts of the FDA and HEC for organizing such types of trainings for non- teaching staff of the Universities.
He also highlighted the expanded and diversified role of FDA for optimizing the talent of the teachers as professionals and strengthening their commitment. Later he distributed certificates among the participants

Lauding the efforts of FDA the participants found the workshop very beneficial as it provided them an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and enhance their interpersonal effectiveness.
They found the content very innovative and useful.
They were grateful to the HEC and FDA for organizing this workshop especially for non-teaching staff.
