ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani on Friday expressed concern over missing of citizens from the federal capital.
He said that they would neither be frightened by any group nor would keep their eyes closed at Parliament on the disappearances of citizens. Senate session was held here with Raza Rabbani in the chair.
PPP Senator Farhatullah Baber took up the issue of missing persons. Baber said that the issue of missing person had become grave. “Earlier people were going missing from FATA and Balochistan, but now citizens are missing from the federal capital,” Baber added.
He added that Interior Minister had announced to get the missing released early, but instead the fifth one also went missing. He questioned that what message was given to the Parliament by disappearing the five people.
Upon this, Chairman Senate said that Parliament cannot keep its eyes closed over the issue of missing persons. He issued directives to the concerned authorities to submit report in the Parliament about the missing people by Monday.
On a calling attention notice, over alleged death of five infants after intake of polio vaccine, Sheikh Aftab told the House that the concerned minister could explain the causes of death, however, he clarified that polio vaccine did not caused the infant deaths.
