Chairman NAB urges every body to ‘Say No to Corruption’

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that every individual should adopt the policy “Say no to corruption” as national obligation for curbing this menace in the country.
Addressing a seminar “Curbing Corruption through Awareness” organized by Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) held at WAPDA House on Friday, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said the NAB has achieved a number of successes during last year as a recent survey by Transparency International has revealed that there was less corruption in 2013 as compared to 2012 in the country.
He said that “still a long way to travel to find the right destination and more determined efforts are being made to tackle this harm”.
The NAB was making effective, efficient and credible efforts for creating an enabling environment for a corruption free society, he added.
Qamar Zaman urged the departments to have its internal vigilance section or accountability system to eliminate the corruption and create awareness among society.
Thanking to WAPDA officials for holding a seminar, he said that these events should be held to create awareness. INP
