ISLAMABAD Federal Interior Minister, Ch Nisar Ali, Saturday announced that he would not only resign but would say goodbye to the politics if the charges leveled against him by the PPP leader, Senator Ch Aitizaz Ehsan.
Talking to media,, Ch Nisar told that this would be his shortest press conference and would not take any question from media men. He lamented the attitude of the PPP leader for leveling allegations against him and his late brother who according to him never indulged himself in the politics.
Ch Nisar claimed that he has been elected eight times as MNA, remained in opposition for five times and held the ministerial slot six times.” This shows public trust on me as I have never been accused of committing corruption during his 30-year politics.”, he claimed. He said he was told by party leaders even the PM requested me not to hold news conference or delay.. “ I never gave anybody chance to raise finger at me, he said adding that I have been left with no option but to respond as they not only leveled allegations against me but also targeted my late brother and family. He said he never believed in character assassination politics. I faced many difficulties but always remained associated with the party, he maintained. Parliament is the prominent forum to discuss the issues and I was targeted inside as well outside the politics.

Nisar said the allegations leveled against him should be considered as an FIR, terms of reference (TORs) of the commission decided and a time frame given to it to investigate and decide on the allegations about him and his late brother. He said if the allegations leveled were proved to just one percent, he would not only resign from the post but politics as well. Nisar said considering the interest of the country above every thing, he has decided to pass over Friday’s criticism in the Parliament and let it be judged by the commission or tribunal of former judges.
