ISLAMABAD: Member Environment, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sanaullah Aman said that on the directions of the Chairman Maroof Afzal, the Environment Wing of the Authority is taking concrete steps to promote awareness for preservation of the green character of Islamabad by ensuring physical and practical participation of the residents of capital city.
He expresses these views while addressing as chief guest of the prize distribution ceremony of the 34th Spring Flowers, Vegetables and Birds show- 2016 organized by CDA in collaboration with Islamabad and National Horticulture Societies held here at Islamabad Club on Saturday. Office bearers of the societies, government officials, environmentalists, civil society, nature lovers and people from different walks of life were also present on the occasion.
Sanaullah Aman said that CDA has always launched and encouraged such competitions in Federal Capital to encourage plantation of flowers. He congratulated the winners of the flowers exhibition and said that such positive activities not only provide a rich healthy entertainment opportunity to the people but also provide a chance to the lovers of flowers to witness the rare species of flowers. He said that in order to further enhance He said that CDA has planned different projects including installation of fairy’s wheel, chair lift and development of safari park which on completion will further enhance the beauty of the city. He said that for the attraction of children of the twin cities animals including lion, tiger, elephant, snakes etc are being added in the Marghzar Zoo.
Member Environment distributed the prizes among the winners of Spring Flowers, Vegetables and Bird Show – 2016. In large category of flowers show, CMH Rawalpindi secured first position, while in the small category organizations Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) was declared first.
