ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday has started demolishing infected water filtration plants instead of purifying them after a report aired by private television channels.
Details have it that chairman of the authority had issued directives to repair purification systems installed however in contradiction, the staffers have started to destroy the plants.
In one of such incidents in the past, water testing laboratory had declared Margala Town’s plants among others polluted. However, the Capital Development Authority demolished the plant and allotted the piece of land to a local.
The report aired on Friday pointed out supply of impure water from plants in Ministers’ Enclave among others that included sector F-9, F-10, F-11, G-8, G-9, G-11, I-9.
CDA chairman took notice of the issue and suspended Director-General (DG) Water Supply while ordered immediate repairs of the filtration plants. NNI
