ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) drive against encroachments and illegal constructions is in full swing and the Authority is ensuring indiscriminate and strict action against violations of authority’s building by-laws and encroachments in the Capital.
The CDA on directives of its chairman, Maroof Afzal in connection with campaign against encroachment has stopped the construction work on a plaza named Royal Apartments situated in Pakistan Medical Co-operative Housing Society, Sector E-11 over violation of approved layout plan of the Authority and also demolished illegal constructions on second and third floor of the plaza. The operation was carried with the assistance of Islamabad Police and Islamabad Capital Administration. It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad High Court during a proceeding has also passed the directions to CDA authorities to take immediate action against the violators of CDA building by-laws in sector E-11. The violators were served prior notices but they did not remove the violation at their own.
Similarly, during another operation teams of Enforcement Directorate also demolished fifteen (15) illegal dwellings near zero point sector G-7. Teams of Enforcement Directorate also carried out anti encroachment operations in different markets of Islamabad and confiscated three (03) trucks of encroachment material.
Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed has directed Enforcement Directorate to continue anti-encroachment drive without any discrimination and ensure strict action against the violators of CDA building by-laws as well as the encroachers. He directed to ensure strict monitoring to eliminate on encroachments and illegal construction from Islamabad.
