CCTV cameras being installed at entry and exit points of Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi administration has decided to install close circuit CCTV cameras at all the entry and exit points to check the increasing incidents of theft including cars and motorcycles and to apprehend the culprits.

According to details, the modern cameras would be ked with wireless system which could  monitored by the Regional Police officer and other senior police officers in their offices on computers.

The installation of the cameras is being carried out under the supervision of SSP Operation Karamatullah Malik through public-private partnership. Between 26 to 30 entry and exit points would be monitored through the close circuit cameras. The first CCTV camera has been installed at Motorway Interchange Naseerabad which has become operational.

The SSP said the cameras would help the police employees to perform their duties more effectively.
