RAWALPINDI: Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar was shifted back to Adiala jail from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

Former premier Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law was moved back to prison amid tight security after he recuperated from his illness.

He was shifted to Pims last week after his health deteriorated in Adiala jail where he along with his father-in-law and wife Maryam Nawaz is serving sentences awarded to them in the Avenfield properties case.

A five-member medical board conducted his various tests and declared his reports satisfactory.

He was shifted to the hospital after he complained of abdominal pain and constipation. He was kept in Cardiac Centre of Pims which was declared sub-jail till his retention in Pims.

A medical board was constituted to examine and conduct various tests of Safdar.  General Surgeon Prof Tanvir Khaliq headed the board which included Gastroenterologist Dr Mashood Ali, Bariatric Surgeon Dr Atif Inam, Medical Specialist Dr Fibhaa Syed, and Radiologist Dr Mujahid Raza. NNI
