ISLAMABAD (INP): Islamabad Police has decided to take action against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers for attacking the police official caught in Tahirul Qadri’s rally on August 16.

Case would be registered against PAT workers for allegedly injuring a police official and snatching official weapons, said police.

PAT workers had caught and injured an armed man during Tahir ul Qadri’s address who was later revealed to be a police official. According to police, the register roznamcha of Aabpara police station has been halted for past 18 hours. No more cases are being registered because investigation is underway.

The medical report of Police commando Aqeel Qureshi who is a guard of Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada has also been obtained from Federal Government Services Hospital Polyclinic of Islamabad.

PAT workers caught an armed man, beat him and brought him to the stage when Tahirul Qadri publicly forgave him and sent him on his way. It was later found that the armed man was a police official who identified himself as Aqeel Qureshi.
