Army Rescue and relief Operation continues in flood affected areas of Multan, Muzafargarh, Uchsharif, Bahawalpur, Athara Hazari.
Seven helicopters have flown for 206 hours since September 5, three hundred boats are operating for rescue operation. Thirty seven thousand people have been rescued by Army troops so far.
Eighty tons of Rations have been heli dropped for flood affectees in these areas while eighteen Army medical camps have been established to provide medical care to flood victims.
At least 17 persons including bridegroom, women and children drowned while 22 were rescued alive as an over-loaded boat carrying a marriage party capsized near flood-hit Shershah embankment on Sunday.
According to rescue sources, the boat carrying over 40 wedding guests overturned near Shershah embankment when it was moving from Muzaffargarh to Multan.
Rescue personnel through immediate response rescued 22 persons alive. Bodies of 12 persons have been recovered while search for others was underway.
