ISLAMABAD: “There is a positive relationship between IT security and competitiveness of bank” said by Dr Nedim Makarevic, Ambassador of Bosnia & Herzegovina to Pakistan, during his book launch of “Influence of IT security on bank’s competitiveness.”
The book launch ceremony was organized by Global Business Router (GBR)– a platform that aims to bridge local and international business community to enhance bilateral trade– at Islamabad club on 8th July 2015.
According to the ambassador, there is no business in the present times that is not at least dependent on Information Technology (IT), in fact banks depend highly on IT. Banks face a lot of internal and external security threats thus banks have invested large amount of money just to protect the privacy and property of clients and gain their trust.
Peer Syed Mudassir Nazar Shah, CEO of Global Business Router (GBR) and President of Salook, appreciated the works of the ambassador in the field of business and commerce. He also praised Ambassador Nedim’s efforts to improve the bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Bosnia.
He added “GBR has organized various activities: forums, meetings and delegations, in order to enhance contact between local and international business community. It has been successful in hosting several influential diplomatic and business figures, yielding positive outcomes.”
Mentioning Salook’s future plans for Bosnia, Peer Mudassir said that in the next year Salook will donate 50 ambulances, set up x-ray and laboratory facilities in rural areas of Bosnia, and start English language teaching program for Bosnian students to meet the need of the day.
Dr Fahad Mehmood, Assistant Professor at Comsats Institute of information Technology (Islamabad), talked about the importance of academic researchers in being able to counter the security challenges and how the book is an effort in right direction. Talat Mehmood, Senior Vice-President and Regional Business Head of United Bank Limited, talked on how risk is dealt at strategic level and how the known and unknown risks are mitigated at the top management level.
