RAHIMYAR KHAN: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Saturday lambasted the PML-N government for neglecting the southern belt of Punjab province.
“Takht-e-Lahore (throne of Lahore) gave nothing to South Punjab during the last eight years,” Bilawal said while addressing a massive gathering of his supporters at Rahimyar Khan.
He said that the PPP government had taken practical steps to address the sense of deprivation in South Punjab.
“History is witness that PPP waged a practical struggle to eliminate the sense of deprivation and poverty in South Punjab. Electing President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Finance Minister National Assembly Speaker, Governor and Chief Minister from this region are proof of our love with this land,” he said.
“We had spent a record amount of money on South Punjab during our government,” he said.
The PPP chief pledged that South Punjab province would also be established if people desired.
“We had built DG Khan and Bahawalpur airports to facilitate the people of South Punjab,” he said.
He further said that Mian sb was more concerned about Indian famers than Pakistanis. “Whenever Pakistani farmers get proper price of their crops, Mian sab import vegetables from India to lower prices,” he added. NNI
