There is less than a week before Chelsea take on Brighton & Hove Albion in their opening game of the 2020/21 Premier League season. The Blues have had a difficult pre-season and haven’t had a great amount of time to prepare for the upcoming campaign.Frank Lampard will be working hard with his squad to get them ready for the trip to the AMEX Stadium on September 14.But what are some of the big talking points for Lampard to have to deal with before that match on Monday night?
Work out his best formationIn the pre-season friendly against Brighton, Lampard went with a 4-2-3-1 formation, which could be the preferred option. It makes Chelsea more attacking and could leave them a little open defensively if they don’t cover the back four as they should.Last season, it was the 4-3-3 which was more popular, however that would mean some of his attacking talent would have to be on the bench. Those are going to be the key questions for Lampard going into the opening game and to try to find the right balance.
