Rehoboth Beach: US President Joe Biden concluded his confinement at the White House with the a trip to his vacation property in Delaware and a reconciliation to his wife, first lady Jill Biden, on Sunday after testing negative for Covid-19 for a second straight day.
Even though his symptoms were minor, Biden has been quarantined at the White House for even more nearly two weeks with Covid, forcing the cancellation of visits and functions.
The president had a negative test on Saturday but didn’t leave his isolation until after a second false negative on Sunday.
Biden’s doctor, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, wrote in a memo that “He will return safely to public participation and presidential travel.” Biden took a Sunday morning flight to Delaware.
As he left for Rehoboth Beach, 79-year-old Biden told reporters in front of the White House, “I’m feeling fine.”
After positive test for Covid-19 for the initial time on July 21, Biden was first allowed to leave his isolation chamber at the White House on July 27. In what O’Connor called a rebound case, which occurs in a small number of persons who use the antiviral medicine Paxlovid, he tested positive once more on July 30.
On Monday, Biden has a trip to Kentucky planned. He will be able to take part in bill signing at the White House this week in order commemorate recent legislative successes on veterans’ health, semiconductor manufacturing, and maybe a climate and healthcare plan that was moving through the Senate on Sunday.
