Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has revealed that in demand striker Christian Benteke has a buy-out clause of £32.5 million. The clause was inserted in Benteke’s new £50,000 a week contract.
Sherwood has reiterated that the Belgium striker, a £7m signing from Genk in 2012, would be taking a huge risk with his career by leaving the club before next summer’s European Championships.
A host of clubs are chasing the big striker with Liverpool in pole position to sign him, however, there are fears that the striker won’t adjust into Liverpool’s style of play.
