RAWALPINDI: Banking court of Rawalpindi on Friday extended judicial remand of supermodel Ayyan Ali in money laundering case till May 18 by ordering the customs officers to submit final challan at the next hearing.
Justice Sabir Sultan was hearing the case of supermodel Ayyan Ali who was produced before the court on Friday. The lawyer for the accused Sardar Ishaq told the court that custom officials have still not prepared final challan and urged the court to release Ayyan Ali on interim bail.
The investigation officer after the break presented necessary and important documents before the court on which Justice Sabir Sultan, as per article 173, directed the counsel to unveil the evidences in next hearing whereas the court has also issued non-bailable arrest warrants of as many as two suspected property dealers.
The court then adjourned the hearing till May 18.
Ayyan Ali was arrested by customs officials on March 14 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad after $508,000 were recovered from her possession.
