KARACHI, Oct 28 (INP): The Pakistan Army has stepped in for the relief of
drought affected people of Thar in Sindh.
The Army moved in the area on the direction of Chief of Army Staff General
Raheel Sharif who asked the force for all out efforts to save lives and
bring relief to the people.
According to the ISPR, four companies of Pakistan Army moved from Karachi on Monday night for relief activities in the drought-hit area.
The Army has established four ration distribution camps at Chachro, Mithi
and Donai where 60 tons of ration contributed by the Pakistan Army will be
provided to the affected people.
The Army has also set up four medical camps and placed two helicopters in
the area for the evacuation of people in emergency.
At least 900 drought affected families were provided food items and clean
drinking water on Tuesday.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif has specially directed
local formation to employ all required recourses to provide relief to the
affected families.
