PESHAWAR: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa on Tuesday said the armed forces are closely monitoring the situation on the border with India and are ready to respond to “any situation”.
“We are closely monitoring the developments on the eastern border and we are fully prepared to respond,” he said while briefing journalists after an operations and security review meeting which was headed by Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif.
Bajwa also gave a briefing on steps taken for border management by the armed forces.
Work has been completed on 20 posts set up for border management, Bajwa said.
He said border management would be most effective when Pakistani efforts are matched by the Afghan side.
He said deliberations are being made on top levels to ensure implementation of the National Action Plan in letter and in spirit.
