Army dispatches 80 tons relief goods for Tharparker affectees

LAHORE, 25 NOV (DNA) – Pakistan Army has dispatched a consignment of 80 tons of relief goods for drought affected people (DAPs) of Tharparkar from Army Relief Camp  Fortress Stadium, Lahore Garrison Tuesday.  The consignment consisting of 12 trucks left for Hyderabad for onward distribution in famine stricken areas of Thar, the ISPR said.

The relief goods include food items, medicines, clean drinking water and bedding. Almost 30 teams of Pak Army consisting of Para-medical staff are already working round the clock  in areas worst hit by disease  that include Chachoro, Diplo, Dali, Islamkot and suburbs  of Nagarpar since the last one month. They have provided solace and medical treatment to almost 1200 families.

Pak Army has established 7 relief camps in Lahore Garrison. The sites include Fortress Stadium, Ayub Stadium, Gaddafi Stadium, Walton Road, DHA and Sheikhupura. Pak Army has so far dispatched 148 tons of relief goods for Tharparkar from Lahore Garrison. DNA
