RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel
Sharif on Tuesday signed death warrants of 4 more terrorists who had
involvement in suicide bombings and kidnappings.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Sharif
has signed the death warrants of four more terrorists. The condemned
terrorists are Noor Saeed, Murad Khan, Inayatullah and Israruddin.
These four terrorists were convicted of funding terrorist
organizations as well, among other charges.
Earlier, four terrorists involved in Army Public School (APS) attack
that claimed more than 140 lives last year, mostly students were
hanged.
According to the sources, four militants who were part of the APS
attack plot were hanged in Kohat prison.
Earlier on November 30, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel
Sharif had singed black warrants of the four convicted including
Maulvi Abdus Salam S/O Shamsi, Hazrat Ali S/O Awal Baz Khan, Mujeeb ur
Rehman alias Ali alias Najeeb Ullah S/O Gulab Jan and Sabeel alias
Yaya S/O Atta Ullah.
Militants were sentenced to death by military courts in August this
year after they were convicted of involvement in the Taliban massacre
on December 16, 2014.
Political parties had unanimously agreed to establishment of army
courts. 21st Amendment in the Constitution was passed by the
Parliament in January this year. However, few factions had expressed
reservations in the matter. Opposition Leader in the National Assembly
(NA) Khursheed Shah had said that speedy trial-courts should not be
misused for political gains.
Petitions challenging the Amendment were thrown out in August with
eleven to six votes by a 17-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC).
