Army chief confirms death sentences of 13 terrorists including Nanga Parbat attacker

Rawalpindi: Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, on Tuesday confirmed death sentences of 13 more hardcore terrorists convicted by military courts.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that convicts were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including killing of foreign tourists at Nanga Parbat, attack on Saidu Sharif Airport, destruction of schools, attacks on armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians.

According to the ISPR, the convicts whose death sentences have been confirmed by the army chief are Irfan Ullah, Mushtaq Ahmed, Muhammad Nawaz, Taj Gul, Asghar Khan, Ahmed Ali,  Haroon ur Rasheed,  Bakht-e-Ameer,  Aziz Khan, Fazal-e-Ghaffar, Asghar Khan, Ikram Ullah ,and Haider.

Earlier on January 1, the army chief had confirmed death sentences for nine terrorists convicted by military courts.
