Islamabad: A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court to reveal the details of the nomination papers submitted by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to the Election Commission.
According to Express News, in the petition filed by Advocate Umair Shafiq Mughal, the Election Commission has been made a party and it has been taken as a stand that the petitioner has approached the Election Commission several times, the Election Commission is reluctant to provide details regarding the nomination papers of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the petitioner has the right to get the details of the nomination papers under Article 19A.
The petition has requested that a certified copy of Mohsin Naqvi’s nomination papers in the Senate elections 2024 be provided, and relevant documents submitted along with the nomination papers should also be provided.
The petition has further requested that a declaration by the Election Commission to elect Mohsin Naqvi as a senator unopposed be provided.
