APML to take part in local bodies’ polls

MUSHARAFFFKARACHI: Former president general (retired) Pervez Musharraf has said holding of mid-term elections and installation of interim set-up in the country is possible.

“All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) will fully contest the upcoming local government elections,” he announced while speaking at a gathering in Karachi.

Musharraf, who has remained calm and quiet for a long time, has decided to be active in politics with his decision of taking part in the local bodies’ polls.

He said that his preference is still Pakistan and he wanted to do good and positive politics for its development.

He lamented over the bad situation of the country, saying Pakistan is heading towards destruction day by day and only the good politics can save the country. The APML chief said all cases filed against him were based on political grounds.

He said it was the need of the hour to have a government with capability to run the country. He said people were leaving the country after hopelessness.

Those who ruled the nation three to four times cannot bring development to the country, he underlined. The former president expressed regret over brain drain of youngsters from the country. DNA
